Discover Presque Isle

The annual Discover Presque Isle festival was cancelled in 2020 to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. As we approach the 2021 summer season, we are carefully monitoring CDC, Erie County Health Department, and Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) guidelines regarding special events and large gatherings.

With such uncertainty surrounding these subjects, we are working to re-imagine Discover Presque Isle for the 100th anniversary of Presque Isle State Park. Our primary focus will be on 1) fostering a deeper appreciation for all the park naturally offers and 2) promoting the many recreational opportunities available at the park.

Our developing concept excludes the use of Beach 11 or other large public spaces at the park for craft, artisan, and food vendors.

Our priority continues to be the health and safety of the Presque Isle community, including our staff, partners, supporters, performers, participants, vendors, and volunteers. With that, your trust and confidence in our decision to re-imagine Discover Presque Isle is appreciated.

About Discover Presque Isle...

Discover Presque Isle (DPI) is an annual three day celebration of Presque Isle State Park hosted by the Presque Isle Partnership (PIP). PIP is a non-profit organization working to enhance the visitor experience at Presque Isle by developing, funding and implementing projects and programs on the Park while protecting the natural environment. DPI serves as our largest annual fundraiser and has resulted in a variety of park improvement projects.

DPI aims to bring awareness to the Park’s diverse natural ecosystems, numerous recreational opportunities, and helps educate visitors on the importance of preserving our natural environment. Over the past five years, attendance on Presque Isle throughout DPI weekend is estimated to average more than 100,000.

The celebration occupies key points throughout the 3,200 acre sandy peninsula and offers family friendly recreation and nature awareness activities, experience live music on the beach, sand sculpture competition, giant bonfire, Presque Isle Lighthouse tours, and so much more!
