In 2012, the Partnership took on the initiative to execute an event (Best Summer Night) on Presque Isle with the goal of raising money for improvements to the Perry Monument area as well as the relighting of Perry Monument. On June 23, 2012, the Presque Isle Partnership brought the legendary Crosby, Stills & Nash to Beach 11 for a once-in-a-lifetime concert experience.

Best Summer Night’s success resulted in the Perry Monument restoration project being the finale centerpiece for the bicentennial celebration of the Battle of Lake Erie. Perry Monument will be forever lit using high efficiency solar LED lighting at its base and a vertical LED beacon perched atop its brass urn. In addition to the lighting upgrades, the Partnership purchased 15 "recycled aluminum picnic tables complimenting the construction of a new 30’ x 40’ picnic pavilion.
