The 10th Annual PI Triathlon
Saturday, August 28, 2010 Presque Isle State Park
The 10th Annual PI Triatholon is scheduled for Saturday, August 28, 2010 with an 8 a.m. start. The 2010 Tri will be limited to 400 total participants. Applications can be completed online at active.com, and hard copy applications can be downloaded from www.discoverpi.com and can be returned via US mail.

2009 Race Info:
The 9th annual triathlon on Presque Isle State Park will take place on Saturday, August 29. All segments of the triathlon-the swim, the bike and the run-will start, transition and finish at the Cookhouse. "PI TRI 09" is open to individuals and 2-3 person relay teams and will offer a high-quality, fun, safe and exciting multi-sport experience for all levels of competitors from first-time triathlon entrants to experienced triathletes.
TO BENEFIT
The Presque Isle Triathlon is a non-profit event and an entirely volunteer effort. All proceeds will benefit Presque Isle State Park (via the Presque Isle Partnership) and other volunteering non-profit organizations whose time and presence contribute to the success of the triathlon. As a non-profit organization, the Presque Isle Partnership seeks to preserve, protect and enhance the park with projects that positively impact the educational and environmental facets of Presque Isle State Park.
GETTING THERE
Presque Isle State Park is located approximately 120 miles from Cleveland, Pittsburgh and Buffalo. From I-90 east and west, take I-79 north, exit at West 12th St. Follow West 12th St. west to Peninsula Drive, (Rt. 832). North on Peninsula Drive to Presque Isle State Park. Beach 6 is clearly marked and is located approximately 2.5 miles from the entrance of the park.
COURSE DESCRIPTION
PI TRI 10 will take place exclusively on Presque Isle State Park. The triathlon course design features a nearly complete and scenic tour of beautiful, historic Presque Isle.
* 0.35 Mile Swim: well-marked, guarded, open-water swim course in Presque Isle Bay. Throughout much of the swim, water depths will be greater than 6'.
* 13.0 Mile Bike: one counter-clockwise loop on the main road that encircles Presque Isle State Park, beginning and ending at the transition area, near the Waterworks Cookhouse Pavilion (on the bay side of PI). It will be flat and fast. Highest elevation on PISP is 7'.
* 3.5 Mile Run: out and back, mostly flat loop on the multipurpose trail east of the transition area, finishing near the Waterworks Cookhouse Pavilion.
